Anaheim CA

From: Autumn (Autumn@shadowslight.com) | Date: 2003-06-06 05:00:30 UTC
I'm going to be in CA for a short period of time (working mostly)
during September. I'd love to get a quick box or two while I'm
there. I'm going to try to tack on an extra day to my trip if
possible, or maybe fly in a day early - and not tell the boss! :)
Anyone from the area who could recommend some easy boxes in the
vacinity?
Or perhaps wanting to meet to exchange? I'll know dates closer to
the event.

:)
Autumn

I haven't found any of the boxes down in that neck of the woods but I am in the area and would interested in an exchange. It might even be a good opportunity for me to find some of the boxes down in Orange County.

Keep me posted...

Wonderful! I'll hang onto your email address and drop you a line
when I know when/where I'll be! If I can't get a day of nearby
boxing in, at least we can do an exchange!
Best,
Autumn

Autumn,
While in Anaheim, if the freeways are clear, you wouldn't be 45
minutes from some letterboxes north of you in the Los Angeles area.
I have three Eaton Canyon LBs planted in Altadena, just north of
Pasadena, which are freeway close, and listed on the letterboxing.org
clues list for Los Angeles. There are two other letterboxes in Eaton
Canyon, so you might get five stamps for one hike. My three
letterboxes in the canyon are about a 1.5 mile trek, and will require
you to negotiate some short but steep hills, but if you are able,
it's a nice outing. Besides mine, there are two LBs in the Los
Angeles Arboretum in the city of Arcadia (5$ entrance fee; one was
reported still there as of two weeks ago), three LBs in Descanso
Gardens, in the city of La Canada Flintridge (5$ entrance fee), and
some free treks in Whittier, planted by Jam n Jelly, that will net
you a bunch of LB stamps. Just check out the Los Angeles letterbox
listings in the LBNA Website.
